Ready For Surprises At TMC & MATS!
The latest tele meeting of TWNAs Bord of Directors
was fertile in new developments. First, all indicators point
to say that member dues will likely be payable by credit card
shortly, a demand that has been repeated many times by lots
of members. An update on this issue will be provided at the
Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville.
At the same venue,
more details will be revealed about a new award that TWNA Board
of Directors is contemplating to hand out for outstanding investigative
reporting. TWNA members will be consulted as to what they think
of the idea. Stay tuned until MATS !
Technical Achievement Award: We Have A Winner
!
The Technical Achievement Award Committee has finished its consulting
and voting duties and has picked the winner for 2007, which
will be honored during a ceremony at the TMC, which takes place
from February 4 to 7, 2008, in Orlando Florida. The name of
the winning company will be announced at the same time as five
other finalists.
TWNAs 20th Anniversary Coming Soon
In November 2008, TWNA will be 20 years old. Thanks to the devoted
work of the founders and to our members, press and associates,
who have contributed along all those years to make TWNA the
success it is today.
This landmark is
certainly worth celebrating and a couple of ideas have already
started to come up amongst the Board of Directors. However,
we would like to hear from you about any suggestions you might
have on how this 20th anniversary should be celebrated. Please
send comments and suggestions to Tom
Kelley, Executive Director, or Eric
Berard, Chairman.

Chairmans Corner: Louisville Memories
Just a quick word to tell my fellow members that I will likely
be unable to attend this years edition of MATS. Yet, I
am 100% confident that my colleagues of the Board of Directors
and our Executive Director, Tom Kelley, will do a fine job at
hosting the big annual meeting and Banquet, to which I strongly
encourage you to participate if you are planning to go to Louisville.
As for the associate
members, make sure that all press materials I receive will be
treated as well as if I had been there (and you wont have
to endure my repeated questions!). So, unless something comes
along, as for free gourmet food and free booze, Ill have
to rely on my memories for 2008! Looking forward to see you
all at other press events during the year and at 2009 MATS!
