Mid-America
Trucking Show Activities
They press room at the Mid-America Trucking Show will be relocated
to the South Wing conference room area in room B105 with an
adjacent room that can be used by members of the press to conduct
interviews. Kudos to Toby Young and the folks at Exhibit Management
Associates for making this move as it should cut our commuting
back and forth during the show, as well as providing a space
where we can interact with the PR and Marketing folks.
While the exact details
have yet to be finalized, MATS management has confirmed that
TWNA will again be able to display our Communication Awards
entries, even though space will be in short supply at the 2007
show because of construction work on the convention center.
In other MATS news,
there still are sponsorship opportunities available for the
Awards Banquet. Please contact Tom
Kelley for details.
Paul Abelson is going
to invite Dr. Terry J. Woychowski, Chief Full-Size Truck Engineer
at General Motors, to give a presentation at TWNA's Friday (3/23)
meeting held during MATS. He will speak on how to evaluate a
new vehicle during a test drive.
Communications Awards Deadline
The deadline for the TWNA Communications Awards has been extended
to December 20, 2006. Your entries should be shipped to arrive
in Tucson by this date.
Glossary
Be on the look out for an e-mail from your TWNA director asking
for your assistance in helping us define some slang trucking
terminology that will appear in the revised glossary. Once we
get the slang terms defined, we will post the revised Trucking
Terms Glossary on the TWNA web site as well as have copies of
it printed and distributed.
TWNA @ HDAW
Although the details are still being finalized as of this writing,
TWNA will participate in the Monday (1/22/07) evening reception
at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week in Las Vegas. This event will
likely take the form of a "meet the press" mixer,
so plan on bringing plenty of business cards and copies of your
publication.
TWNA Press Members
can obtain a comp registration for the annual Heavy Duty Dialogue,
scheduled for Monday (1/22/07) from 8:00AM to 5:30PM, with a
Continental Breakfast available at 6:30AM. For press registration
and other program details, please contact Margaret
Beck at HDMA.
There will be press
conferences and a press luncheon scheduled for Tuesday (1/23/07).
We'll send along a detailed schedule as soon as it becomes available.
